Rose was born in 2013 by emergency caesarian.  She was 10 weeks early.  Spontaneous labour occurred due to undiagnosed polyhydramnios caused by an undiagnosed Cervical Teratoma “CT” (giant neck tumour).  She left hospital 7 months later with CT removed, a fundoplication and a gastrostomy tube for feeding and a cpap machine for breathing while asleep.

She has unilateral vocal cord palsy and vocal cord webbing (from intubation) which means her voice is quiet and husky and her breathing when she exercises and sleeps is loud and strained.  Her gastrostomy was surgically closed 2 years after it was placed, after successfully establishing oral eating.  She is on meds to treat  hypothyroidism and remains on C-PAP to sleep.

Rose lives every day to the full, we are so grateful she is able to live a happy life.  She is funny and fun, curious and engaged, loving and so so loved.
